Intended use
The Provox Flush is intended to be used to flush drinking
water or air through the inner lumen of a Provox voice
prosthesis for cleaning purposes. The Provox Flush is
intended for both home and clinical use by patient or
clinician.
WARNINGS
• The flush is only recommended for patients with sufficient
manual dexterity, acceptable vision and satisfactory
cognitive ability.
• Do not put pressure on the voice prosthesis, the voice
prosthesis may be dislodged into esophagus.
• Do not squeeze the bladder before the flush is placed into
the voice prosthesis. Water will enter the trachea leading
to coughing. Let the bladder be refilled with air before
removing the flush from the voice prosthesis (fig 8).
Cleaning and disinfection
Clean the Provox Flush after each use according to fig. 9-11.
Do not use any water other than drinking water to clean
and rinse the device.
Disinfect the Provox Flush at least once a day (fig. 12) with
one of the following methods:
• Ethanol 70% for 10 minutes
• Isopropylalcohol 70% for 10 minutes
• Hydrogenperoxide 3% for 60 minutes
Caution: Do not clean or disinfect by any other method as
this might cause product damage and injury.
