Engraving device GE 70
Assembling the GE 70 instead of com-
pound table KT 70
Unscrew the four fastening screws of the com-
pound table and remove the compound table
from the base of the milling cutter.
Fasten the GE 70 with the base plate to the
base using the supplied fastening screws and
flat washers.
Ensure the base is not dirty and that the base
plate is seated levelly!
Assemble the guide marker
The guide marker is not pre-assembled for
packaging reasons. However, assembly is quite
easy, as shown in Diagram 2:
1. Place the spring on the guide marker
2. Insert the guide marker through the designa-
ted drill hole.
3. Screw on the ball handle.
Selecting the reduction ratio
You can adjust four reduction ratios by varying
the lever ratios at the guide arm. To do so, un -
screw the respective screws as shown in Dia-
gram 3, adopt the designated position for the
desired reduction from Diagram 4, adjust the
guide arm and screw the screws back in.
Different hole combinations for the
different reductions:
A: 2:1
B: 3:1
C: 4:1
D: 5:1
Please note (Diagram 5):
If reduction D (5:1) is adjusted, then it is neces-
sary to insert the rear slotted screw through the
designated drill hole in the work table and
tighten it to correctly adjust the guide arm.

Assembling the digit and letter plates
on the guide rail
Slide in the desired digit and letter plates from
the side into the guide strip as shown in Dia-
gram 6.
Caution!
Make sure that at least 10 digit and letter plates
are assembled!
If extraneous plates are necessary for this, then
simply slide them in face down!
Please note:
A thrust piece must be assembled at the begin-
ning and at the end, as shown in the illustration.
Fastening the guide rail to the grooved
table
See Diagram 7: Slide in the guide strip with the
desired letter-digit combination together with
the enclosed screws and the square nuts cen-
tred in the groove of the table.
Alignment of guide strip and the work
piece (Diagram 8)
This operating procedure is especially important
for adjusting the work piece position on the
working area of the milling cutter. The move-
ment possibilities of the guide arm are naturally
limited depending on the reduction; the possible
milling area must be adjusted to the position of
the work piece.
1. Tentatively fix the work piece to the work
table using the supplied clamping jaws, as
shown.
2. Then trace along both end positions of the
digit and letter sequence with the guide mar-
ker and observe the movements of the work
piece regarding the spindle position: Does it
stay in the area of the milling cutter in any
position and can it move freely?
3. Please also make sure that the milling cutter
does not collide with the clamping jaws!
After correct alignment, definitely clamp the
work piece with the clamping jaws.
