Warnings
•
Explosion Hazard: Do not use the M2741A sensor in
the presence of flammable anesthetics.
•
Electrical Shock Hazard: Always turn off and remove
power before cleaning the M2741A sensor.
•
Failure of Operation: If the M2741A sensor fails to
respond as described, discontinue use until the
situation has been corrected. Refer servicing only to
qualified service personnel.
•
Do not use the M2741A sensor if it shows visible
damage, has exposed electrical contact, or has become
wet from spills or condensation.
•
Do not clean, disinfect, sterilize, or reuse airway
adapters or nasal cannulas designed for single-patient-
use. To do so may compromise M2741A Sensor
functionality and system performance, and cause a
potential hazard. Performance for single-patient-use
items is not guaranteed if reused.
•
Avoid infection by using only sealed single-patient-use
airway adapters and nasal cannulas.
•
Replace airway adapters or cannulas, if excessive
moisture or secretions are observed in tubing.
•
Do not apply excessive tension to any cable. Do not
position cables or tubing in any manner that may cause
entanglement or strangulation.
•
Do not use the M2741A on patients that can not
tolerate the specified withdrawal from the airway.
•
Do not connect the exhaust to the ventilator circuit.
•
Observe the CO
abnormal appearance such as an elevated baseline,
check your patient and then the ventilatory circuit.
Waveforms can be affected by changes in patient
condition, a faulty sensor, or faulty airway adapter. See
Troubleshooting Tips on the following page for more
information.
•
If an anesthetic agent is used, you must connect the
M2741A sensor outlet to the scavenging system using
an exhaust tube (e.g M1015-40001, orderable
separately).
