COMPONENTS
1
Supply side; transparent hose (2) or orange
hose (1) will be connect to the bleeding valve
2
Check transparent hose (2) to verify the brake
fluid free of air bubbles
3
Drain side to connect to a collection container
4
Valve body
If necessary, the valve body can be opened for
cleaning.
INTENDED USE
The brake bleeding valve is used for easy bleeding of brake systems. The vale opens when the braking
system is actuated, allowing brake fluid to pass and closing as soon as the brake is released. This
prevents air from being sucked in and, therefore, allows the bleeding of the braking system by only one
person.
SAFETY INFORMATION
•
Always read the instructions carefully before using the tool.
•
The repair of brake systems is best taken care of by professionals. Should you encounter any
difficulties or problems, consult a qualified technician.
•
Follow the manufacturer's specifications. This manual is supposed to inform you about the tool itself
and does not replace specific servicing handbooks.
•
Ensure the working area has adequate lighting
•
Keep children and unauthorized persons away from the working area.
•
Do not let children play with this tool or its packaging.
•
Keep working area clean and tidy, dry and free from unrelated materials.
•
Only use brake fluid from new and originally sealed containers to top up the reservoir.
•
Never fully depress the brake pedal, otherwise the piston in the master cylinder will move beyond
the normal range of operation, this can damage rubber seals in the master cylinder.
•
After the bleeding process and before start driving, check whether a good brake pressure is present
and the brake pressure does not decrease when the brake pedal is pressed.
BLEEDING PROCEDURE
Follow the bleeding sequence below, unless otherwise stated in the service literature, when bleeding
brake systems. Start with the wheel furthest from the master cylinder and bleed all other brake cylinders in
the order corresponding to the distance to the master cylinder. For most right-hand drive vehicles the
bleeding steps are: rear right - rear left - front right - front left.
Information about the bleeding sequence can be found in the vehicle-specific service literature.
1. Fill up the reservoir with brake fluid.
2. Connect the supply side hose (1 / 2) to the bleeding nipple on the wheel brake cylinder.
3. Insert the drain side hose (3) to a container.
4. Slowly and repeatedly actuate the brake and watch the transparent hose (2).
5. Once the brake fluid flow in the transparent hose (2) is free from air bubbles, the bleeding process on
this wheel brake cylinder is finished and the bleeding nipple can be closed.
