Rubber Sanding Plate 14
For operations with the rubber sanding plate/the
cup brush/the wheel brush/the flap disc, always
mount the hand guard (accessory). For mounting,
see the illustration page.
Screw on the round nut 16 and tighten with the
two-pin spanner.
Cup Brush 17/Disc Brush
For operations with the rubber sanding plate/the
cup brush/the wheel brush /the flap disc, always
mount the hand guard (accessory).
The grinding tool must be able to be screwed onto
the grinding spindle 6 until it rests firmly against the
grinder spindle flange at the end of the grinder spin-
dle threads. Tighten with an open-end spanner.
Approved Grinding Tools
All grinding tools mentioned in these operating
instructions can be used.
The permissible speed [rpm] or the circumferential
speed [m/s] of the grinding tools used must at least
match the values given in the table.
Therefore,
always
observe
rotational/circumferential speed on the label of the
grinding tool.

After assembly of the mounting flange and the
roughing-/cutting disc, the free length of the grind-
ing-spindle thread "X" must be at least 4 mm.
Fold up the locking shackle of the quick clamping nut
and screw the quick clamping nut onto the locked
grinding spindle by hand in clockwise direction,
until it sits tight on the roughing-/cutting disc. Fold
back the locking shackle again.
To release the roughing-/cutting disc, fold up the
locking shackle and unscrew the quick clamping nut
by hand in counterclockwise direction with the
grinding spindle locked. If necessary, the quick
clamping nut can also be loosened with the fitting
face spanner. The two holes for the face spanner are
located under the locking shackle.
Initial Operation
Observe correct mains voltage: The voltage of the
power source must agree with the voltage specified
on the nameplate of the machine.
When operating the angle grinder off of mobile
power generators that do not have sufficient reserve
capacity or suitable voltage control (with starting
current amplification), loss of performance or
untypical behaviour upon switching on can occur.
Please observe the suitability of the power genera-
tor.
To start the machine, press the On /Off switch 3 for-
ward.
To lock-on, press the On/Off switch 3 down at the
front until it engages.
To switch off the machine, release the On /Off
switch 3 or, when the switch is locked, briefly press
down the On/Off switch 3 at the rear.
Reduced Starting Current (EWS 125-S/ES)
As a result of soft starting, a 13 A fuse is adequate.
A machine without reduced starting current
requires higher fuse protection (use at least a
13 A time-delay fuse).
Kickback Stop (EWS 125-S/ES)
In case of a sudden drop in speed, e. g. jamming
while carrying out a separating cut, the power sup-
ply to the motor is interrupted.
Restarting operation: Switch the On/Off switch 3
to the Off position and start the machine again.
