FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS/ TROUBLESHOOTING
Question/problem - cause
Cause
The display does not show the welding current value:
• The power cord is unplugged;
• The "ON/OFF" switch is set to OFF position (0);
The inverter is on but not supplying welding current
and the thermal protection is triggered:
• Overloaded appliance;
• The supply voltage is higher than the technical
data and causes the overload relay to trip;
• The
welding
incorrectly connected;
• The ground clamp is not properly connected and
is not touching the workpiece;
Poor welding performance:
• Reverse polarity;
• The power cord or extension cord is too long,
which causes the welding current to decrease;
• The welding current is not adjusted to the
electrode characteristics;
• The electrodes are damp and causes unstable arc;
Electrodes splatter excessively:
• The welding current is very high for the electrode
diameter used;
• Reverse polarity;
cables
are
disconnected
Solution
• Connect the power cord;
• Set the "ON/OFF" switch to ON position (I);
• Wait for the inverter welder to cool down and
switch it back on;
• Adjust to the appropriate supply voltage;
• Connect the work cables properly;
or
• Attach the earth clamp correctly on the workpiece;
• Connect the work cables to the correct terminals;
• Increase the cable cross-section of the extension
cord or decrease its length;
• Adjust the welding current, on the adjustment knob,
according to the electrode used;
• Use high-quality and dry electrodes;
• Adjust welding current according to the electrode
used;
• Check that the welding cables are connected
according to the right polarity. If this is not the case,
reverse the polarity to a straight one.
