EN 60204-1, Electrical equipment of machines,
EN 60947-5-3, Low-voltage switchgear and con-
trolgear – Requirements for proximity switches
with defined behaviour under fault conditions.
The non-contact safety switch T4000 Multi and its
components must be regularly subjected to a
technical inspection as per chapter 7.2 "Periodic
technical checks".
2.3
Correct use
The non-contact safety switch T4000 Multi must be
used only as defined in chapter 2.2 "Applications of
the non-contact safety switch". The non-contact
safety switch and its components are only allowed
to be installed by qualified safety personnel and are
only allowed to be used on the machine on which
they have been installed and initialised by qualified
safety personnel as per these operating
instructions.
All warranty claims against SICK AG are forfeited in
the case of any other use, or alterations being made
to devices, even as part of their mounting or
installation.
2.4
General safety notes and
protective measures
The non-contact safety switch T4000 Multi provides
a protection function for persons. Incorrect
installation or manipulation can result in serious
injuries.
The non-contact safety switch T4000 Multi complies
with the following safety requirements:
Performance Level e as per EN ISO 13849-1,
proximity switch with self-monitoring, type PDF-M
in compliance with EN 60947-5-3,
