6. Commissioning, operation
6.2 Making the electrical connection
The instrument must be earthed via the process connection.
■
The power supply for the pressure sensor must be made via an energy-limited electrical circuit in accordance with
■
UL/EN/IEC 61010-1 or an LPS to UL/EN/IEC 60950-1 or class 2 in accordance with UL1310/UL1585 (NEC or
EN
CEC). The power supply must be suitable for operation above 2,000 m should the pressure sensor be used at this
altitude.
■
Only ever use a power source that ensures a safe electrical isolation of the operating voltage in accordance
■
with IEC/DIN EN 60204-1. In addition, observe the general requirements for PELV circuits in accordance
with IEC/DIN EN 60204-1. Switching power supply units are permissible, if they ensure a safe isolation as defined
by IEC/EN 60950-1.
Long signal cables reduce the immunity to interference. Make sure that the length of the signal cable is always
■
shorter than 30 m. In this way you can avoid non−operate currents caused by electromagnetic interference.
For cable outlets, make sure that no moisture enters at the cable end.

6.3 Zero point adjustment
Check the indicated zero point on the display during commissioning. Should an offset be displayed as a result of instal-
lation, this can be reset in programming mode with the 0SET parameter.
Carry out zero point adjustment in a depressurised state.
