To introduce the Square fun, the materials can

being freely investigated so that it is clear how
they work.
Tip
First collect all the shapes you need to produce
the example, place them on the example and
then insert them in the inlay board. In this way
you know for certain that the example that you
are going to produce is correct.
How to play
Square fun can be used in various ways.
- Work with the example cards
- The children give each other a task, one child
lays down a random square and the second
child must reproduce this model. Then the
roles are reversed.
- The children can use their creativity to make
pretty models independently.
- Make a copy with squares and let the children
fill these in using the shapes they have prac-
tised with, or copy the contour models to let
them be coloured in.
