Using the product as intended

• The S88 DC feedback module is designed for con-
nections to the L88 (60883) and the Central Station 2
(60213/60214/60215) beginning with Software Version
3.7.xx or the Central Station 3 (60216/60226).
• Connections for additional 60882 feedback modules.

Safety notes

• The voltage supply for the S88 DC is done by means of
L88 (60883).
• Connections to the S88 DC feedback module may only be
done with no voltage present.
• WARNING! Sharp edges and points required for operation.
• The housing is not to be opened.
• The S88 DC feedback module is designed only for use in
dry areas.

Important notes

• The operating instructions are a component part of the
product and must therefore be kept in a safe place as
well as included with the product, if the latter is given to
someone else.
• Please see your authorized Märklin dealer for repairs or
spare parts.
• The warranty card included with this product specifies
the warranty conditions.

Function

The S88 DC decoder registers and stores whether there is
current flowing in the current sensor(s) connected to it.
There are 2 groups of 8 current sensors available on the S88
DC (1-8 and 9-16). This allows you to monitor track areas in
two different power circuits. The 16 current sensors can be
combined to a single power circuit.
Possible Applications for the Current Sensors:
• The current sensors can be used as contacts whereby
the contact location is supposed to be at least the length
of one locomotive.
• For monitoring a track area.
Note:
The S88 cannot store recognized conditions. As soon as the
layout has no current (STOP button), the conditions must
first be read in again, which may lead to malfunctions in
automatic operation.
