Refreshing the nickel metal hydride battery packs
• Attach the nickel metal hydride battery pack to the battery
pack attachment section 1 and press the refresh button for
about a second. While the refresh is taking place, charge
indicator 1 flashes in red. Normal charging starts
automatically after the refresh is completed.
• To cancel refreshing the battery pack, remove the battery
pack from the battery charger, then reattach it. When you
reattach the battery pack, normal charging starts.
• When the operating time of the fully charged nickel metal
hydride battery pack becomes noticeably short, refresh the
battery pack.
Notes
• The time to take for refreshing depends on the remaining
capacity of the battery pack. For shorter refreshing time, it is
recommended to discharge the battery pack before refreshing
it.
• The charger detects the output voltage of the attached battery
pack. If the voltage of the battery pack is above certain level,
the battery pack is assumed that refreshing is unneccesary. In
this case, refreshing does not take place even if the refreshing
button is pressed and normal charging starts, instead.
• While the refresh is taking place, charging on battery pack
attachment section 2 is interrupted.
• Be sure to attach the battery pack to be refreshed to the
battery pack attachment section 1. The battery pack
attachment section 2 is not capable of refresh function.
• You cannot refresh the lithium ion battery packs.
