Solar LED lamp SOL 80
AUTO:
Setting in normal operation.
OFF:
1. Setting for longer periods of non-use.
2. Setting for the three-day initial charging prior to start-up.
Set the switch to OFF. The solar cell will charge the battery without activating the unit.
Leave the switch in this position for at least 3-4 sunny days to make sure that the battery
is fully charged before the final set-up and later normal use.
Setting up the motion detector
Once the initial charging is completed, set the switch to AUTO.
Aim the motion detector in the direction from which you wish to detect motion. Set the
TIME-selector dial on the underside of the motion detector to "Minimum" (-) and the LUX-
selector dial to the "bright" ( )position. Test the monitored area by walking around the
area to be monitored slowly. If the solar light does not come on as desired, the motion
sensor's aim needs to be adjusted.
There are three selector dials on the motion detector:
TIME / SENS / LUX
1. TIME = Light duration: You can set the time that the light stays on after motion has
been detected to a period of between around 10 seconds and 1 minute. Turn the TIME-
selector dial in toward (+) to increase the light duration and toward (-) to reduce the
light duration.
Note: The time period set begins after the motion detector has been triggered. Each
time motion is detected, this period begins again.
2. SENS = Sensitivity: The device's sensitivity depends on the ambient temperature. The
lower the temperature, the greater the motion detector's sensitivity. Use the SENS-se-
lector dial in order to set (or adjust) the motion detector's sensitivity and compensate
for changes in the ambient temperature. The sensor is most sensitive when SENS-selec-
tor dial is completely turned toward (+).
3. LUX = Response sensitivity: With the LUX-selector dial, you can set the ambient light
level at which the device activates. This keeps the lights from coming on in daylight. In
the ( ) position, the light will activate day and night, while in the ( ) position, it will only
come on at night. You can set the light level at which you want the unit to activate using
the LUX-selector dial.
REPLACING THE BATTERY
Note: When replacing the battery the slider switch on the lighting unit must be set to OFF.
To replace the battery, first remove the device from its supporting surface. Then loosen
the screws on the housing on the back of the lighting unit. Carefully loosen the battery
connector cable and remove the battery bracket. Remove the battery from the housing
and put a new battery in. Re-assemble the device by reversing this sequence.
