Insert battery

Open the battery compartment on the housing's rear side and insert
a 9 V battery. Correct polarity must be observed. See illustration on
previous page.
Operation

Switch the device on (Button 6). AutoShutOff: The device will auto-
matically switch itself off about 2 minutes after the last measurement.
Select measurement mode

Select STUD-SCAN or AC-SCAN with the Mode button (6). The mode
indicators (3) will show the presently set mode. For safety reasons,
the AC voltage warning is always active: The „Voltage (AC) found"
LED (5) lights up if a live line is located within the measuring range.
Measuring in STUD-SCAN mode

For electronically detecting studs and joists (wood and metal)
in dry walls (behind plaster fibreboard, wooden panels and other
non-metallic panelling). Use the SET button (4) to adjust the
measuring depth.
– Select STUD-SCAN (button 6). Select "Normal" (SET button).
This setting is ideal for plaster fibreboard panels installed in
one thickness (max. 2 cm).
– Select "Deep" (SET button) for two plaster fibreboard panels
installed on top of each other (max. 4 cm).
– Select "Super-Deep" (SET button) for thick wooden panels and
floor constructions (parquet etc.), max. measuring depth 6 cm.
– Place the tool against the wall.
– LED CAL (3) flashes: Press the calibration button (7) and wait until
calibration is completed. CAL OK: LED cal (3) lights permanently.
– Move the tool slowly across the surface.
Slide the tool sideways across the wall. When the
maximum display appears, you have reached the
edge of the stud.
