HIGH-SPEED RS-232 TO X.21 CONVERTERS
2.1 Description
The High-Speed RS-232 to X.21 Converters let a
synchronous RS-232 device communicate bi-
directionally with a synchronous X.21 device. Two
models are available:
• High-Speed RS-232 DCE to X.21 DTE Converter
(IC949A)
• High-Speed RS-232 DTE to X.21 DCE Converter
(IC950A)
The Converter requires no batteries to operate and
supports data rates to 384 kbps. Operating in full- or
half-duplex mode, the Converter passes all necessary
clocking and control signals, and is transparent to
protocol.
The Converter connects directly to the synchronous
RS-232 interface via a male DB25 connector. A male
DB15 connector at the end of an integral 6-ft. (1.8-m)
cable plugs into the X.21 interface. In most cases, this
eliminates the need for special crossover cables. Housed
