Introduction

Thank you for purchasing a Pico Technology data logger. This guide explains how to install the
PicoLog 6 software and connect your data logger. It also contains important safety information
and advice on accessing user manuals and technical support.
We recommend that you use this document in the order it is presented:
Step 1:
Install the PicoLog 6 software
Step 2:
Read the data logger safety information
Step 3:
Connect the data logger

Step 1: Installing the PicoLog 6 software

System requirements

To ensure that PicoLog 6 operates correctly, you must use a computer with the system
requirements shown in the table below. The performance of the data logger will improve with a
more powerful PC, and will benefit from a multi‑core processor.

* PicoLog 6 for Linux is distributed as an AppImage, so you can install it without superuser
permissions: see

for further information. The software has been tested on
OpenSUSE and Ubuntu.

Installing the software

Go to www.picotech.com/downloads, select your data logger's series and model from the
lists, then select the latest PicoLog software. Download and run the installer.
2.
In the PicoLog installer, select the language you wish to use.
3.
Follow the on-screen instructions to install the software. Do not connect the data logger
until the installation is complete.
4.
You can try out the software with a demo device now, by clicking the new PicoLog 6 icon
on your desktop.
