Illuminant Installation
• Loosen the screw on the top of the floodlight and swing the lens forward.
• Remove the illuminant from the packaging.
• Avoid touching it with bare hands since this causes grease stains which lead to overheating. Use
a clean, dry, lint-free cloth.
• Insert one end of the illuminant into the socket, press against it, and insert the other end of the
illuminant into the socket. Ensure that the socket is not damaged.
• Then close the lens and retighten the screw.
Installing
Installation may only be carried out by trained professionals according to the applicable installation
regulations. Contact a licensed electrician.
ATTENTION!! Before installation, the power supply must be disconnected and locked out.
• Loosen the screws on the side of the housing and remove the mounting brackets.
• Install the mounting brackets to a suitable surface – always follow the installation location requi-
rements listed under "General Safety Information".
• Reattach the floodlight housing to the mounting brackets but do not tighten the screws fully.
• Loosen the screws on the back of the junction box and remove the cover.
• Remove the cable guide screw connection and guide it over the connecting cable – the screw
connection thread must face in the direction of the cable end.
• Loosen the cable grip screws and remove the cable grip.
• Guide the screw connection seal over the cable as well, and then insert the cable into the junction
box. Ensure the seal is seated in the cable guide correctly – if the connecting cable is too thin,
the cable guide must be additionally sealed.
• Connect the wires according to Figure 5.
• Tighten the cable guide screw connection, install the cable grip, and tighten the screws.
• Install the junction box cover and tighten the screws.
Setting the Floodlight Direction
Loosen the screws on the sides of the mounting brackets, adjust the floodlight direction, and then
retighten all screws.
Motion detector – general information
• The motion detector uses passive infrared technology.
• Highly sensitive infrared detectors react to minute temperature changes in the coverage area,
e.g. those caused by a human being.
• Trees and shrubs can trigger false readings – the ideal installation height is 2.5m.
• The range and sensitivity depends on the ambient temperature; for example, the range can
increase in cool weather.
• While the motion detector is protected against the weather, an additional enclosure is recom-
mended.
Setting up the motion detector
• Turn both dials fully counter-clockwise (T). The floodlight turns on for approx. 1 minute and then
turns off.
• Walk the entire acquisition area. Once you leave the area, the halogen floodlight is turned off after
a time delay; upon re-entering the acquisition area, it is turned back on.
• The motion detector light sensitivity and activation time can be individually adjusted using the dials.
Replacing the Illuminant
You can find the technical data for the illuminant under "Technical Date" or on the type plate
attached to the floodlight housing.
