Initial Setup Operation (2)
Selecting TV Display
Select the appropriate screen type
according to your TV set: conventional size
screen (4:3) or wide-screen (16:9).

At the SETUP MENU screen, press the
5/b buttons to select "TV DISPLAY",
then press the ENTER button.

Press the ENTER button as many times
as necessary to get the desired option
displayed.

To exit the SETUP MENU, press the SETUP
button.
Conventional televisions have a 4:3 screen
ratio. Wide-screen televisions have a 16:9
screen ratio.
Select the 4:3/PS (PanScan) or 4:3/LB
(LetterBox) mode for regular television sets.
4:3 Letterbox : The video material not
formatted in the Pan & Scan style is played
back in the letterbox style (black bands
appear at top and bottom on screen).
4:3 Panscan : Select when a conventional TV
set is connected. The video material
formatted in the Pan-Scan style is played
back in that style (the left and right edges
are cut off).
16:9 Wide : Select when a wide-screen TV
set is connected. Played in "FULL" size.
(Setting the wide-screen TV to "FULL" mode
is also necessary.)
Selecting TV Type
You can select a TV type from NTSC, PAL
and MULTI depending on your TV set in a
similar way to selecting the TV Display. (See
page 14.)
PAL is a TV system generally used in Europe.

appuyez sur les touches 5/b pour
sélectionner l'option "TV DISPLAY",
puis appuyez sur la touche ENTER.

Appuyez sur la touche ENTER autant
de fois que nécessaire pour afficher
l'option désirée.

Pour quitter le menu SETUP, appuyez sur la
touche SETUP.
Les postes de télévision classiques ont un
écran de type 4:3. - les grands postes de
télévision des écrans de type 16:9.
Sélectionnez le mode 4:3/PS (Pan Scan)
ou:3/LB (Letter Box) pour les postes
ordinaires..
4:3 LetterBox : Les matériels vidéo qui ne
sont pas au format Pan et Scan sont lus au
format Letter Box (des bandes noires
apparaissent en haut et en bas de l'écran).
4:3 PanScan : Sélectionnez cette option si le
poste de télévision raccordé est un poste
classique. Les matériels vidéo au format Pan
Scan sont lus dans ce format (les bords
gauches et droits sont coupés).
16:9 Wide : Sélectionnez ce mode si vous
disposez d'un grand écran de télévision.
Lecture en taille "plein écran" (vous devez
également régler votre poste en mode "plein
écran".
Sélection du type de poste
Selon le type de poste que vous utilisez,
vous devez sélectionner le mode NTSC, PAL
ou MULTI (voir page 14) d'une manière
similaire à celle par laquelle on choit le
mode d'affichage.
Le PAL est un système de télévision
généralement utilisé en Europe.
