Hilti solar park installation system
Assembly instructions
Standards and technical guidelines
en
The Hilti solar park installation system complies with the following standards:
DIN 18800: Design and construction of steel structures
DIN EN 1990, Eurocode: Basis of structural design.
DN EN 1991-1-1, Eurocode 1: Actions on structures - Part 1-1: General actions on
structures; densities, self-weight, imposed loads for buildings.
Intended use
The Hilti solar park installation system is designed to be used exclusively for fas-
tening photovoltaic panels.
Use for any other purpose is a violation of the system's intended use.
Use of the product as intended also includes observance of the information given
in these assembly instructions. These assembly instructions form an integral part
of the IFU (instructions for use).
Responsibilities of the client or operator
The operator of the facility is responsible for the following safety-relevant points:
• Ensuring that the structure is assembled only by persons with the appropriate
skills and basic knowledge of mechanics.
• Ensuring that the persons assigned the task are capable of correct judgement and
that they are in a position to identify possible hazards or risks.
• Ensuring that the persons assigned to the task are familiar with the parts of the
system.
• Ensuring that the assembly instructions are available for use during assembly. The
assembly instructions form an integral part of the product.
• Ensuring that the assembly instructions and, in particular, the safety instructions
are read and understood by the persons assigned to the task before assembly
begins.
General safety instructions
The following general safety instructions and warnings form a significant part of
these assembly instructions and are of fundamental importance for the correct han-
dling and use of the product.
• Working clothing in compliance with national regulations must be worn.
• The applicable industrial safety regulations must be observed.
Conditions of use
Dimensioning of the solar park installation system is to be carried out by Hilti for
each individual project. The system is designed to withstand all prevailing wind and
snow load scenarios.
Taking the given loads into account, the system is optimized from a technical as
well as cost-efficiency point of view through specification of the distance between
support posts and the placement of longitudinal channels.
The Hilti solar park installation system is designed for use with the following pan-
el formats:
Framed panels: A maximum of two rows of panels laid out in vertical format or three
rows of panels laid out in horizontal format. ×
Thin-film panels: A maximum of five rows of panels (1200 mm x 6 00 mm) laid out
in horizontal format.
Angle of inclination (from the horizontal plane):
Min. 10°
Max. 35°
Preparations for assembly
To assemble the parts of the Hilti solar park installation system you will require the
following tools:

Hilti cannot be held liable for damage or loss resulting from failure to observe the
assembly instructions, especially the safety instructions, or through misuse of the
products.
• Ensuring that the permissible conditions of use are observed. Hilti cannot be held
liable for damage or loss as a result of exceeding the scope of these conditions.
• Ensuring correct assembly in accordance with the assembly instructions and pro-
viding the correct tools where necessary.
• Ensuring that the assembled connectors are securely fitted and that the structure
is securely anchored.
• Ensuring that suitable lifting equipment is used for the assembly work.
• Ensuring that only Hilti parts are used where parts have to be replaced or exchanged.
Failure to observe this point voids all rights to claim under warranty.
• The Hilti installation system may be included in the electrical potential equaliza-
tion concept (please refer to the corresponding certification). Direct connection
with the existing potential equalization system is achieved by correctly fitting a
suitable terminal clamp (not part of the items supplied).
• A second person, who can provide help in the event of an accident, must be pre-
sent for the entire duration of the assembly procedure.
• A copy of these assembly instructions must be kept at hand in the immediate vicin-
ity of the facility for use by assembly personnel.
Foundations:
The Hilti solar park installation system is suitable for use with following foundation
or footing systems:
- Concrete block or strip foundations
- Ground anchors
- Ramming (pile driving)
- Cast-in (support posts set in concrete)
The subsoil at the planned site must be suitable for the type of foundation or foot-
ing to be used. The subsoil must thus be surveyed and assessed for each project.
The suitability of the foundation or footing must be verified by a separate structur-
al analysis.
Please contact Hilti service in the event of deviation from the defined conditions of
use.
The surrounding conditions and assumptions of the structural analysis must be
checked fundamentally at the location by the client. Please contact Hilti Service or
a structural engineer at the location for detailed information.
