Urethral Closure Band
(Nuremberg model)
Indications:
The urethral closure band is a circular compression cuff
which is easily applied to the penis. A soft compression
pad prevents medicines injected into the urethra (liquids,
gels, contrast means, etc.) from running out and similarly
prevents the inadvertent loss of urine in mild to moderately
severe urinary incontinence.
Advantages:
– the soft, padded, pleasant to wear cuff causes less pres-
sure pain than comparable penis clamps
– the Velcro fastener simplifies adjustment
– the compression effect is easily adjusted by the patient
– light to wear and small in size the device provides good
wearing comfort when running, sitting, walking
– Disposable
Application:
Open the cuff to approximately the diameter of the penis.
Align the pressure pad when slipping it over the penis to
the lower surface of the penis and the urethra. Tighten the
closure band and close using the Velcro fastener. The urethra
should be compressed, but not uncomfortably so or painful.
Please check for about 15 min after fitting to ensure that
the glans has a "normal" colour and is not dark red or blue.
In the case of bluish discoloration, the pressure of the seal
should be loosened slightly. In order to pass urine, the small
band is opened a little, left on the penis and held with one
hand and pushed in the direction of the body. Afterwards,
the small band can be pushed in the direction of the glans
again and closed.
