SET-UP
BEFORE PLUGGING THE MACHINE IN, REMOVE THE PROTECTIVE POLYSTYRENE PLACED INSIDE THE
SERVICE COMPARTMENT (12).
Completely tighten (without excessive force)the maxi-cappuccino device (5a) on the steam/hot water tube (5).
Remove the cover (10) Fig. 3, fill the container with coffee beans (c. 300 g.) and then replace the cover.
Never put substances other than coffee beans into the machine. Doing so could seriously damage the
appliance.
Extract the water reservoir (7) Fig. 3, from the machine and, after having taken off the cover (8), fill it with cold
water (c. 2 litres). A valve on the bottom prevents the water from leaking out.
Put the water reservoir and relative cover into position, pressing down lightly on the cover in order to enable the
valve to open automatically.
Only put cold water into the tank: hot water and other fluids may damage the tank. Never use water with added
carbon dioxide (sparkling water).
Unwind the necessary length of power cord (16).
Plug into the electric socket, wait a few seconds and then keep the ON button (22) pressed down until the light
(18) lights up.
The incorporated electronic circuit will automatically carry out a self-diagnosis and a possible coffee brewer unit
(13) repositioning cycle. The noises made at this point are normal.
WARNING: the first time the machine is utilised, it is necessary to open the steam tap (6) after positioning
the glass underneath the steam nozzle (5). After warming up for a few minutes, the appliance will run a
self-cleaning cycle during which hot water will be expelled through the steam nozzle (5). With the steam
nozzle still open, wait until the coffee temperature light (21) is continuously lit and that at least the equivalent of
one glass of water exits the nozzle (5). Shut the tap (6).
When the appliance is started, the coffee temperature control light (21) goes on until the required temperature is
reached. After approx. two minutes, the light remains lit, indicating that the appliance is ready for use.
WARNING: the appliance runs a self-cleaning cycle emitting hot water from the nozzle (4), whenever it
is left off for a few minutes.
Avoid placing your hands under the coffee brewer unit: risk of scalding!
HOW TO MAKE COFFEE
After setting up the machine, you can make one or two cups of coffee by proceeding as follows:
-
always check the steam tap (6) is shut.
One cup of coffee:
Place the cup under the coffee brewer unit (4) and adjust the height of the coffee brewer unit, drawing it as close
as possible to the cup. Wait for the coffee temperature control light (21) to come on, then press one of the two
buttons (24) or (25) depending on the quantity of coffee desired. The manufacturer sets the quantities: in order
to change them and save them, keep the coffee selection button pressed down until reaching the required level
of coffee.
Press the coffee selection button again in order to interrupt the coffee supply at any moment.
Two cups of coffee:
Make sure that the adjustable coffee dispenser is positioned properly horizontally so as to get a balanced output
of coffee in the 2 cups.
Position two cups underneath the nozzle (4), wait for the warning light (21) to go on and press the two-cup selection
button (23) until it lights up and follow the same instructions given for the single cup operation. The cycle delivers
coffee in two phases. Wait until the end of the second delivery before removing the cups.
The two-cup selection button (23) stays lit and on, until it is pressed again.
