Pallino Coding
Pallino Coding is a game that stimulates children's
creativity by reproducing colourful mosaics using "programmed"
instructions. As they plan and make the mosaics, children take their
first steps in the world of coding, i.e. programming.
There are two ways to play: the first is more creative and
consists of making colourful mosaics following the
patterns on the cards. The second lets children make up
the pattern following the instructions on the "coding"
side of the cards.
Pallino Coding, computational
thinking and computers.
Pallino Coding stimulates problem-solving
strategies, such as algorithms, logic and breaking
down problems. These are all elements which
make up computational thinking, i.e. "thinking
like a computer programmer". Teaching children to
think like this is becoming an important educational
objective, in order to give them a head start in today's
digital revolution.
