Mounting the Print Server
The print server is a so-called slot card that is simply inserted into the foreseen
slot. The print server slot is usually located next to, or above the printer's
Centronics interface.
The print server has been configured for a ring speed of 16 MBit/s. To use the
print server with a ring speed of 4 MBit/s, remove jumper J7 from the print server
board.
Prepare the printer
Proceed as follows:
1. Turn the printer off.
2. Disconnect the printer's power cord.
3. Remove the data cable connecting the printer to the computer.
4. Remove the screws from the interface cover.
5. Remove the metal cover.
Insert the print server
Proceed as follows:
1. Remove jumper J7 for a ring speed of 4 MBit/s.
2. Insert the print server board into the slot until the board locks into the
receptacle.
3. Fasten the print server board screws.
Connect the print server
Proceed as follows:
1. Connect the network cable to the print server.
2. Connect the printer's power cord to the printer.
3. Turn the printer on.
4. Press the status button of the print server in order to print out a status page.
