ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Weatherproof
For pylons: A-742010; A-742020
CAUTION: Do not submerge a weatherproof pylon in water. This can
cause corrosion. A corroded pylon can break.
A weatherproof device allows use in a wet and/or humid environment
but does not allow submersion. Fresh water splashing against the
enclosure from any direction shall have no harmful effect.
Waterproof
For pylons: A-748030; A-748040; A-748010; A-748020
A waterproof device allows use in a wet and/or humid environment and
temporary (<30 mins.) submersion of up to 1 m in fresh water. Exposure
to fresh water under these circumstances shall have no harmful effect.
All Product:
The pylons should be dried thoroughly after contact with fresh water.
Fresh water: Includes tap water. Excludes salt and chlorinated water.
It is recommended to rinse the product with fresh water and then dry
thoroughly after use in wet and/or humid environment
COMPLIANCE
Össur products and components are designed and tested according to
the applicable official standards or an in-house defined standard when
no official standard applies.
Compatibility and compliance with these standards are only achieved if
Össur products are used with other recommended Össur components.
These components have been tested according to ISO10328 standard to
3 million load cycles. Depending on the amputee's activity this
corresponds to a duration of use 3–5 years. We recommend carrying out
regular yearly safety checks.
