Congratulations! You are now the owner of a Melnor
AquaTimer Model 3012, the timer that allows you to water
everyday without complex programming.
Installing the Battery
Tools required: Small flathead screwdriver.
Remove screws and lift off the battery cover. You may
need to use the screwdriver to gently pry off the battery
cover. Insert one 9V battery and replace battery cover and
screws. Make note of the positive and negative contacts.
Attaching the Timer to the Faucet
Because your AquaTimer will begin watering immediately,
you should attach the timer to the faucet and the hose/
sprinkler to the timer before you set the timer.
Simply attach the top coupling nut to the faucet by
twisting the nut clockwise. The nut should be snug. Do
no overtighten. Once the AquaTimer is attached, turn
on the faucet and leave it on while the timer is attached.
Remember to turn off the water when you need to remove
the AquaTimer.
Attach a garden hose to the outlet end of the timer and
then set up a sprinkler as you normally would.
Setting the timer
The Melnor AquaTimer Model 3012 will water once a day,
everyday, at the same time. At the time of day you wish to
water, simply:
n Turn knob to desired watering duration
n Press and hold the "Enter" button for 2 seconds.
Release button when the LED blinks to begin watering.
The timer valve will open immediately. After the set duration
has passed, the valve will close and watering will stop. The
following day, at the same time, the valve will again open
for the set duration.
To modify watering duration without changing the
previously set time of day:
Turn knob to newly desired duration but DO NOT press the
enter button. At the next watering time, the timer will water
for the new duration.

hours at the previously set time of day.
Watering Manually
n Press the "Manual On/Off" button to water manually.
n Press the button again to stop watering. Otherwise
the timer will water for 30 minutes and automatically
shut off.
Low Battery
The LED will blink continuously if the battery charge
becomes too low. If this occurs during a watering program,
the unit will automatically shut off and discontinue running
the program. After inserting a new battery, the timer must
be reset to resume watering.
