this tool.

1. Start the hobby tool by moving the ON/OFF Switch (6) to the '1' position
2. To stop the tool, move the switch to the '0' position
Adjusting tool speed
WARNING: ALWAYS set the speed according to the requirements of the accessory fitted and the
material of the workpiece.
• Use the Speed Control Dial (4) to control the rotation speed
Note: The higher the number on the dial the faster the spindle rotates.
Handling
WARNING: Always ensure the workpiece is adequately secured using clamps and/or a vice at
all times. Do not attempt to use this tool without sufficiently securing the workpiece first.
• Hold the tool securely, keeping hands well away from rotating parts. For most purposes, it is most
convenient to grip the tool like a pen
• If possible hold the tool with both hands when performing cutting operations
• Practice using the tool with scrap material before starting a job. Be aware that different
accessories will require different techniques, and may require different speed settings
• Applying excess pressure does not result in faster or more efficient performance. If the pressure
applied to the tool has a noticeable effect on the speed of the tool then reduce the pressure.
Overloading the tool will reduce its service life
• Always ensure that material is secure. If appropriate use a vice or clamp to hold the work

Maintenance
WARNING: Ensure the tool is switched off and disconnected from the power supply, before
cleaning or carrying out maintenance.
Cleaning
WARNING: ALWAYS wear protective equipment including eye protection and gloves when
cleaning this tool.
• Keep your tool clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause internal parts to wear quickly, and
shorten the device's service life
• Clean the body of your machine with a soft brush, or dry cloth
• Never use caustic agents to clean plastic parts. If dry cleaning is not sufficient, a mild detergent
on a damp cloth is recommended
• Water must never come into contact with the tool
• Ensure the tool is thoroughly dry before using it
• If available, use clean, dry, compressed air to blow through the ventilation holes (where
applicable)
Maintaining the collet
Note: Collets are precisely engineered components. They need to remain undamaged, in order to
provide secure hold of the inserted accessories. If properly maintained collets will provide years
of service.
• Remove the Collet Nut (1) and Collet (8 or 9) in regular intervals and/or after heavy use, and
clean thoroughly. Also remove swarf and dust from around the spindle and thread, using a soft
brush and/or compressed air
WARNING: DO NOT use sharp implements, such as pins or screwdrivers to remove deposits
from inside or around the Collet (8 or 9).
Brushes
• Over time the carbon brushes inside the motor may become worn
• Excessively worn brushes may cause loss of power, intermittent failure, or visible sparking
• To replace the brushes, remove the Brush Access Plugs (7) from both sides of the machine.
Remove the worn brushes and replaced with new. Replace Brush Access Plugs. Alternatively, have
the machine serviced at an authorised service centre
