Important note on EVO models
The photocatalysis module built into the device is effective against pollutants, unpleasant odours and
pathogenic micro-organisms: in a nutshell, irradiation of the catalyst (titanium dioxide, TiO2-based)
by light (ultraviolet) triggers the release of OH* free radicals whose strongly oxidising action is the
basis of the purification and sanitisation process. Atmospheric pollutants such as carbon dioxide
(CO2), sulphur oxides (SOx) and carbon monoxide (CO) are converted into compounds with greatly reduced
toxicity levels.
Similarly, the VOCs, a category of compounds including formaldehyde and acetone, which are among the
main culprits of unpleasant odours in closed environments, are decomposed and transformed into harmless
substances such as CO2 and water. With pathogenic micro-organisms such as bacteria and viruses, the effect
of the oxidising action is damage to the outer protective coating, causing their death.
The effectiveness of 'Dust Free' technology at the foundation of the photocatalysis module utilised is certified
by tests conducted at the "Luigi Sacco" Department of Biomedical and Clinical Sciences of the University of
Milan using a fan with an air flow rate of 35 m3/h. These tests have demonstrated the module's ability to break
down the viral load of SARS-CoV-2 inoculated in the liquid phase on both a surface and a tissue.
The abatement tested on the inoculated SARS-CoV-2 liquid, exposed to treated air for 20 minutes at a volume
of 2.13 m3, showed a 90.0% greater reduction than the natural decay of the virus verified in the control test
performed under the same conditions but without "Dust Free" technology.
The abatement tested on cloth, consisting of 45% polyester and 55% cellulose, inoculated with SARS-CoV-2,
exposed to treated air for 20 minutes at a volume of 2.13 m3, instead demonstrated a 99.7% greater reduction
than the natural decay of the virus verified in the control test performed under the same conditions but without
"Dust Free" technology.
