before you assemble grass catcher.
6. POWER CONNECTION
The lawn mower can be connected to any socket
(with 230V alternating current). We recommend,
always use the appliance via a Residual Current
Device (RCD) with a tripping current of not more
than 30mA.
1). Use only rubber-insulation-sheath
extension cables suitable for outdoor use. The
recommended size of extension cord is not
lighter than 1.0mm2 and a maximum of 10
meters in length.
2). Mains leads on lawn mowers are particularly
susceptible to insulation damage. The causes of
this include the following:
• Cutting the cable by passing over it with the
mower.
• Damage through crushing if the mains lead is
routed under doors or windows.
• Cracks caused by ageing of the insulation
sheath.
• Kinks caused by incorrect fastening or routing of
the mains lead.
3).Such damaged mains leads should not be
used under any circumstances as they may
cause fatal injuries due to their damaged
insulation sheath.
4). Always check the plug and cable and make
sure they are in good condition before use.
OPERATION
OPERATING THE MOWER
WARNING! Before you start to mow
the lawn, check that the blade is not
blunt and that the fastening elements are
undamaged.
In order to prevent imbalance, replace blunt
and/or damaged blade.
Warning! Always switch off the motor and
pull out the mains plug before starting such
a check.
1.STARTING & STOPPING (SEE FIG.F )
STARTING
Connect the female extension cable connector to
the pigtail or Connect the plug to the mains and
switch ON.
The switch box (7) is provided with a safety
switch button to prevent accidental starting.
Press and hold the safety switch button.
Next, depress the switch lever(8) towards the
handle and release the safety switch. The
machine is now started; wait until the product is
at full speed before cutting the grass. Then use
34
both your hands to hold the switch lever to keep
it running.
STOPPING
Release the switch lever(8), the lawn mower will
be switched off.
2. ADJUSTING THE CUTTING HEIGHT (SEE
FIG. G)
Caution! Always switch off the motor and pull
out the mains power plug before you adjust
the cutting height.
WARNING: Before adjusting the mower
height, wait for the mower to completely
stop. Mower blades continue to rotate after the
machine is switched off and a rotating blade can
cause injury. Wait until all machine components
have completely stopped before touching them.
For the first cutting of the season, a high cutting
adjustment should be selected.
The lawnmower can be set to 6 cutting heights
between 20mm and 70mm. For this purpose,
move the cutting height adjustment lever (g)
outwards then adjust to the preferred position.
3. MOWING
IMPORTANT! Never open the safety flap
if the grass catcher is being emptied and
the motor is still running. The rotating blade
can cause serious injuries.
WARNING: When mowing do not allow
the motor to labour particularly in heavy
conditions. When the motor labors the speed
of the motor drops and you will hear a change
in the motor sound, when this occurs stop
mowing, release the switch lever and raise
the height of cut. Failure to do so could
damage the machine.
1). Always secure the safety flap and grass bag
carefully. Always switch off the motor before you
remove these items.
2). We recommend that you mow in overlapping
lines. Only mow with sharp, perfect blades so
that the blades of grass do not fray, making the
lawn turn yellow.
3). To achieve a good cut, guide the lawn mower
in lines that are as straight as possible. These
lines should always overlap by a few centimeters
so that you do not leave any strips.
4). How often you should mow the lawn depends
on how fast the lawn grows. During the main
growth period (May – June), mow it twice a week,
and once a week at other times.
5). The cutting height should be between 4 and
6 cm and the growth before the next cut should
be between 4 and 5 cm. If the lawn grows longer
than this on occasion, do not make the mistake
