a) Loosen the knobs of the search coil and rotate the unit until it is parallel to the ground.
b) Tighten the knobs to keep the search coil from vibrating or rotating during use.
2. Battery Installation
Remove the cover of the battery compartment located on the handle and insert a new 9V-
battery. Observe the polarity indications !
3. Operation of the CS50
The CS50 "Treasure Hunter" enables you to hunt for coins, jewellery, gold and silver. The LED
indicator on the handle will light when a metal object is detected and the buzzer will be
activated.
Hold the CS50 in a comfortable position with the search coil parallel to a surface free of metal
objects. Put the adjustable "ON/OFF" sensitivity switch (on the handle) in the position where the
LED indicator lights up slightly and the buzzer produces the faintest of beeping sounds. This is
the "no-metal-detected" threshold position in which the CS50 is at its most sensitive. Rotate the
dial even further to enter the "metal-detected" state.
Use the "maximum sensitivity point" to perform a test on a metal object. The buzzer will beep at
max. volume and the LED will light at max. intensity. These elements indicate that a metal
object has been detected.
Place the sensitivity switch exactly between the "no metal detected"-state and the "metal
detected"-state. Familiarize yourself with the sensitivity of the device by repeating the test with
objects of different sizes made of various metals, such as copper, iron and aluminium.
Note : The max. sensitivity position will be influenced by environmental factors.
