bre.Lux PowerUnit 2 (REF 14001000) gives you the possibility to adapt the luminous power to your
daily or changed requirements. The focus is on managing the heat generated by the light output of
the device and the associated compatibility with materials. Metal frameworks absorb and store the
thermal energy of light more than e.g. pure polymers. Heat can have a positive effect on materials in
the form of post-conditioning or lead to embrittlement or stress if excessive heat is generated.
This light intensity and the resulting generation of heat can be conveniently controlled in the bre.Lux
PowerUnit 2 device by automatically adapting the stored programs to the desired material conditions.
For metal-free restorations or structures with material thicknesses of more than 2 mm (e.g. all parts
made of resin/composite), we recommend the option to increase the power up to 100%.
For restorations that contain metal components or involve high material shrinkage, we recommend
reducing the light output; increasing the output to 100%, however, is always possible in the individual
programs without readjusting the device.
This is quite simple:
Default setting = reduced luminous power on
Changing to maximum power / increased heat generation in the chamber
When the device is switched off, keep the key combination „-" and „180s" pressed simultaneously with
the power button at the rear of the device.
