NASAL ASPIRATOR FOR CHILDREN
device for aspiration of mucus from baby's nose
The BABY NASAL ASPIRATOR Baby Flaem is a patented
device, practical, easy to use and hygienic. It actually only
requires the simple action of one hand and does not require
any mouth aspiration by mum as is the usual case with other
aspirators found on the market, thus avoiding possible micro-
biological contamination.
WHY SHOULD EXCESS MUCUS BE ASPIRATED?
Good breathing is the first defense which a baby has available
to protect its wellbeing and curb infections. As a matter of
fact, the babies under 1 year old, breath exclusively via the
nose. So, if the nose is blocked, it is difficult for the baby to
breathe, having problems sleeping and eating; it can also at
times refuse to suckle and starts crying very often. Conside-
ring that up to when it is 3 years old, the child is not able
to blow its nose on its own, mucus and entrapped bacteria,
viruses and dust particles get clogged in the nasal cavities.
There are two methods which are mostly advised to unblock
the nose: a good wash and the removal of mucus; as for
washing, we advise you to use the Flaem nasal rinses and for
mucus removal, the baby nasal aspirator.
Read these instructions carefully and keep for future referen-
ce. Only use the device as described in this leaflet. It is impor-
tant to read and understand the instructions for use. Contact
your vendor or support centre for further clarification.
As for use by children and by persons who are not self-suppor-
ting, the device should be used under the strict supervision of
an adult person who would have read this leaflet. Keep the
device out of the reach of children.
1. Soft Ergonomically-shaped Tip (2 per pack)
2. Body with external Fins (2A) allowing an easy
and safe grip, and Mucus collection chamber (2B)
3. Spring
4. Plunger
5. Sealing ring
Before each use, wash your hands thoroughly and clean the
Aspirator as follows: open the Nasal Aspirator by turning
the Sealing Ring (5) (Picture D), paying attention to the
Spring (3) thrust.
Cleaning: Wash components with warm drinking water
(approximately 40°) with non-abrasive mild dish detergent
or directly in the dishwasher with hot cycle. The device can
be treated with commonly marketed cold disinfectant, used
according to their specific instructions.
Drying: After having washed or sanitized all components,
shake them vigorously, and finally place them on a paper
towel, or alternatively dry with a jet of hot air (for example
using a hairdryer).
Assemble the device as shown on the relevant diagram
(Picture C), after having lubricated with baby moistu-
rizing oil the seal of the plunger (4).
Personal use is recommended, as well as frequent replace-
ment of the nasal tip (1) to avoid any risk of infection.
a -Hold the Aspirator as if it were a syringe.
b -Place the Nasal tip (1) of the Aspirator inside the nostril
of the child (Picture A).
c - Press with the thumb on the bottom of the Plunger (4)
(Picture A); the air is expelled through the slots at the base
of the device Body (2), thus avoiding the creation of a
pressure towards the nasal orifice of the child. This phase
can also be performed before placing the Aspirator at the
nostril of the child.
d - Gradually release the Plunger (4) (Picture B), thus crea-
ting a vacuum that gently sucks the mucus from the nose
of the child.
e - Repeat for the other nostril from point b.
We are grateful for your purchase.
