Following the user instruction of the product and the inspection sheet, and without specific tools or a particular measuring device. Observe and touch each component of the product in order to
detect possible anomalies. If one of the checkpoints is defective, the product must be withdrawn from service and replaced by a compliant device, or must be returned either to Kratos Safety or
to an authorized service centre, in order to have the repairs performed
Inspect the visual aspect of the product; the device must be checkable.
Wire rope tips:

Verify the condition of the wire rope tips (aluminium wire rope caps + steel thimble) there should be no deformation, cut,
wear, burn.
Wire rope:

Check the condition of the wire rope all across its length; there should be neither distortion, nor cut, nor wear, nor oxidation
at all.
Drum :

After unrolling the entire length of the wire rope, check the condition of the drum. There should be no cut, crack, wear.
Wire ropes binding:

After unrolling the entire length of the wire rope, check check that that the wire rope is properly attached to the drum. Make
sure that the wire rope binding screw is correctly clamped.
Functional inspection:

Wire rope unrolling / rolling-up system
Using the crank handle, verify on a few meters that the wire rope unrolling/rolling-up system operates properly. The wire rope
should unroll / roll-up itself smoothly and continuously. During these operations, you should hear the clinking of the blocking
system.
Blocking system
After fixing the winch on its support, check the efficiency of the winch blocking system, with the help of a load with a mass of
between 60 kg and 135 kg. Raise the load and release the crank handle; when the crank handle is released, the load should
remain stationary. It is not abnormal that the crank handle does a small rotation before the blocking system retains the load;
a half-turn of the crank handle is the maximum acceptable
Winch crank and handle :

Check the condition of the winch crank and the handle, there should be no distortion, nor cut, nor wear, nor oxidation at all.
Make sure that the plastic protective cap is present.
Metallic frame and Assembly cylinders:

Verify the condition of the metallic frame and the four assembly cylinders no distortion, nor cut, nor wear, nor oxidation should
be present.
Protective housing and screws:

Check the condition of the protective housing, there should be no distortion, nor cut, nor wear present at all. Make sure that
every screws are present and properly clamped.
I.D label :

Make sure that the I.D label is present and readable.
Fastening screws :

Verify the condition of the winch fastening screws, there should be no distortion, nor cut, nor wear.
Connector :

Overall condition:
Evaluate the overall condition of the product according to the above checkpoints and the visual aspect of the
product.
