Installation
If in any doubt, rather than mounting, connecting or installing the
equipment yourself, contact a qualifi ed technician.

unit
is
designed
for
fl ush-mounting.
mounting is possible using housing (available as an accessory). When
deciding where to install the outdoor monitor, choose a position that is
well protected against the elements, particularly rain. If necessary, use
waterproof housing to protect the device. The camera (B1) should face
upwards. Refer to the information on the optimal camera position (fi g. D).
Remove the cover (fi g. F1) and install the outdoor monitor according to
fi g. F2. Fit the seal so that the open ends face downwards. Carefully
remove the cover (fi g. F3) to write on the label.
Install the indoor monitor according to fi g. G.
Connection
Connect the door intercom according to fi g. H.
Connection accessories: see additional sheet.
Video connection
You can connect a television or video recorder to the socket (A15).
Power supply connections
Each indoor monitor requires its own power supply. Connect the GPE302-
type power pack's E1 plug to socket C1. Alternatively, use a central power
supply system (not supplied) and connect it to plug-in terminal C2.
For
a
central
power
supply
short- circuit-proof power supply units are authorised. Only allow
voltages/voltage types specifi ed in the "Technical Data" section,
with due regard for the required minimum current. Allowing other
voltages or voltage types will destroy the door intercom. Make sure that
the cables are correctly connected. Incorrect cable connection will also
destroy the door intercom.
Door opener
An electric door opener can be directly connected to the CVS door
intercom. Supply voltage: 12 V DC/max. 1 A.
Caution: do not use door openers requiring a higher operating current, as
this is likely to damage your CVS door intercom (and render your warranty
null and void).
Operation
Set the indoor monitor's ON/OFF switch A11 to ON. The LED A8 lights up
green and the B5 label on the outdoor monitor also lights up. The device
is now ready for use.
Use switch A12 on the indoor monitor to select the required ring tone
(1 to 3) or disable the ring tone (0 = OFF). If the ring tone is disabled, the
LED A8 will light up red. Use volume adjustment A10 to set the ring tone
volume independently of the general volume. Use volume adjustment A2
to set the general volume. On the outdoor monitor, set the volume using
volume adjustment B7.
If a visitor presses bell B4, the indoor monitor and (where fi tted) the
external bell or additional indoor monitor will ring. The visitor can then
speak into the outside monitor and be heard and seen by the person inside
the building. At this point, the person inside the building cannot be heard
by the person outside the building. When using the device for the fi rst time,
adjust the brightness and color (A13/A14).
Button A5 lights up when connection from the outdoor to the indoor
monitor is enabled. If no buttons are pressed, connection will stop
automatically after approx. 30 seconds.
If talk button A4 is pressed, the person inside the building can
