ASSEMBLY
General Instructions
1. Whenever grasping a tool or part in a vise, always use
leather–covered or copper–covered vise jaws. Take
extra care with threaded parts and housings.
2. Always clean every part and wipe every part with a
thin film of oil before installation.
3. Apply a film of O–ring lubricant to all O–rings before
final assembly.
Assembly of the Tool
1. Place the Ball Valve (11) in the air inlet in the Handle
Body (1) and tighten the Airline Connector Nipple
(12).
2. In reverse order of disassembly, install the Lipped
Seal (10), Washer (9), Compression Spring (8) and
Trigger Pin (6) with the Cap (7).
3. Place the Plastic Handle (2) on the handle stump and
drive home with a plastic hammer. Take Care to
avoid damaging the Trigger Pin and Cover. Place the
Handle Retaining Bolt (3) in the Handle and tap
home.
4. Push the Piston (19), impact surface leading, down-
wards into the Barrel (21). The Piston should drop
smoothly down the barrel bore without binding.
The Damping Ring (14) must be replaced each
time the tool is re–assembled
MAINTENANCE SECTION

5. Place the valve assembly on the Barrel so that the
Valve Location Pins (18) fit into the appropriate
holes.
6. Screw on the Handle and tighten to 406–470 Nm.
See Dwg TPD1988.
7. Remove the tool from the vise and insert the Reten-
tion Pin (20) into the appropriate hole.
8. Place the Muffler (23) over the Barrel. Line up the
exhaust ports and secure using the Upper Muffler
Clamp (24) and Lower Muffler Clamp (25)
9. Make sure that the Buffer Ring (28) is in the
Retainer (27). Replace the Retainer on its thread.
