De nition of measurement categories
CAT II: For measurements performed
on circuits directly connected to
the electrical distribution system.
Examples are measurements on
household appliances or portable
tools.
CAT III: For measurements performed
in the building installation at
the distribution level such as on
hardwired equipment in xed
installation and circuit breakers.
CAT IV: For measurements performed at the
primary electrical supply (< 1000
V) such as on primary overcurrent
protection devices, ripple control
units, or meters.
Main components
1. LCD display
2. "SELECT" key
Press the "SELECT" key to select resistance
measuring / continuity diode measuring
mode. Each time the "Select" key is
pressed, the buzzer sounds. Press this
key to wake up the meter when it is in
dormant state. The auto power function
off is cancelled.
3. "Hz%" key (measure frequency or duty
cycle)
Press the "Hz%" key to measure the
DC voltage's or AC voltage's frequency
and duty ratio while measuring the DC
voltage or Ac voltage (press the Hz%
key to select frequency or duty cycle
measurement; when returning to DCV or
ACV after Hz % measurement, the range
of the meter is DCV-400 m or ACV-4 V,
while the "AUTO" symbol on the LCD
disappears. In the Hz% position, you
can measure frequency or duty cycle by
pressing the Hz% key.
4. "REL ▲" key (press this key to use the
current display value as reference value
and exit to normal measurement state
by pressing the key again.)
5. HOLD (keeps the most recent
measurement value on the display.
Press again to switch off .)
6. Function/Range Switch selects the
desired function and range.
7. "Open case" button (press this to open
the front cover of the meter)
8. INPUT OR COM ports (built-in test leads,
the red test lead is the INPUT port, the
black test lead is the COM port.
