Additional Operating Instructions and Tips

Do not place any unstable pans or cooking containers on the burner.
Use flat-bottom cookware.
Use only stainless steel, aluminum, and ceramic pots and pans.
Do not use glass cookware unless it is designed for cooking on a burner of this
type and can withstand very high temperatures.
Take care when using lids on cookware. Do not overfill containers with food that
could expand during cooking and casue a spillover.
To ensure safety and best results, use cookware that is appropriately sized in
diameter for this appliance.
Use NON-PLASTIC coasters or placemats between the electric burner and any
heat sensitive counter surfaces. Failure to do so may cause permanent damage or
stains on the surface.
USDA COOKING GUIDELINES
The United States Department of Agriculture recommends that meat and poultry be
cooked to the following internal temperatures to be certain that harmful bacteria has
been killed. Cook all food to these minimum internal temperatures as measured with
a food thermometer before removing food from the heat source.
Ground turkey and chicken: cooked to an internal temperature of 165°F / 74°C
Ground beef, veal, and lamb: cooked to an internal temperature of 160°F / 71°C
Whole chicken and turkey: cooked to an internal temperature of 180°F/82°C or
170°F / 77°C for breast.
Goose and duck: cooked to an internal temperature of 180°F / 82°C
Fresh beef, veal, and lamb: cooked to an internal temperature of 145°F / 63°C
