PROBLEM
Groove too narrow or

918 Roll Groover
SOLUTION
Install correct groove roll and drive shaft.
Replace groove roll and/or drive shaft.
Install matching roll set.
Use straight pipe.
Cut pipe end square.
Adjust stand to make pipe parallel.
Offset pipe

Offset pipe slightly more.
Clean or replace drive shaft/roll.
Clean inside of pipe.
Grind weld seam flush 2" from end of pipe.
Adjust stabilizer. Apply pressure to pipe (see
Figure 19/20).
Properly prep end of pipe.
Adjust stand to make pipe parallel.
Slow down pumping action. (Refer to Operating
instructions.)
Replace pipe.
Adjust stabilizer.
Use straight pipe.
Cut pipe end square.
Move pipe stand in to match set-up Instructions.
Cut off damaged pipe end.
Use different pipe.
Feed groove roll into pipe faster.
Position pipe stand rollers correctly.
Reduce speed to 57 rpm.
