Proper Hand Position (fi g. 1, 9)
WARNING: To reduce the risk of
serious personal injury, ALWAYS use
proper hand position as shown.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of
serious personal injury, ALWAYS hold
securely in anticipation of a sudden
reaction.
Proper hand position requires one hand on the main
handle (t) as shown.
Preparing the Tool (fi g. 7)
1. Remove all nails from the magazine.
2. Lock the nail pusher (h) in the back position.
3. Check if the contact trip (b) and nail pusher can
move freely.
4. Reload the nails to the magazine.
WARNING: Do not use the tool if the
contact trip or nail pusher cannot move
freely.
CAUTION: NEVER spray or in any
other way apply lubricants or cleaning
solvents inside the tool. This can
seriously affect the life and performance
of the tool.
Actuating the Tool (fi g. 1)
The tool can be operated using one of two modes:
sequential action mode or bump action mode.
SEQUENTIAL ACTION MODE
The sequential action mode is used for intermittent
nailing when very careful and accurate placement is
desired.
1. Using the mode selector switch (j), select the
sequential action mode.
2. Release the contact trip lock-off (l).
3. Push the contact trip against the work surface.
4. Pull the trigger switch (a) to actuate the tool.
Each trigger pull with the contact trip pushed
against the work surface will drive one nail.
BUMP ACTION
The bump action mode is used for rapid nailing on
flat, stationary surfaces.
1. Release the contact trip lock-off (l).
2. Using the mode selector switch (j) to select the
bump action mode.
3. To drive a single nail, operate the tool as
described for sequential action:
a. Push the contact trip (b) against the work
surface.
b. Pull the trigger switch (a) to actuate the tool.
Each trigger pull with the contact trip pushed
against the work surface will drive one nail.
4. To drive several nails, depress and hold the
trigger switch (a), and then push the contact trip
(b) repeatedly against the work surface.
WARNING: Do not keep the trigger
depressed when the tool is not in use.
Keep the contact trip lock-off (l) in the
locked position to prevent accidental
actuation when the tool is not in use.
Clearing a Jammed Nail (fi g. 1, 8)
If a nail becomes jammed in the nosepiece, the
headlights (e) will blink continuously.
1. Remove the battery pack (n).
2. Engage the contact trip lock-off (l).
3. Lock pusher in place.
4. Remove all nails from the magazine (i).
5. Release the jam clearing latch (c) on top of the
nosepiece.
6. Retract the barrel (d) so the jammed nail is
exposed.
7. Remove the nail, using pliers if necessary.
8. If the driver blade is in the down position, insert
a screwdriver into the nosepiece and push the
blade back in position.
9. Lower the barrel back in place.
10. Lock the jam clearing latch.
If nails become jammed in the nosepiece
frequently, have the tool serviced by an authorised
D
WALT service centre.
