IMPORTANT SAFETY WARNINGS

1.
Read the instructions contained in this leaflet carefully: it contains important information to ensure safe
installation, use and maintenance. These instructions will help you to avoid problems and possible accidents
that might compromise your safety.
2.
Having removed the packaging, make sure the barbeque is not damaged in any way. Pay particular attention to
the electrical element and the power cable.
3.
If in doubt, ask a qualified professional to check the appliance before using it. Security warning for technical
service: before opening the element handle, make sure the appliance is unplugged.
4.
Before plugging the appliance in, make sure the voltage indicated on the label corresponds with the mains
power supply.
5.
If the plug socket is incompatible with the appliance, have a qualified professional change it for a suitable
one.
6.
In general, it is not advisable to use adaptors, plug boards and/or extension leads. If there is no other alternative,
only use single or multiple adaptors and extension leads that comply with current safety regulations, and take
care not to exceed the nominal voltage capacity indicated on the single adaptor or extension lead, or the
maximum voltage indicated on the multiple adaptor.
7.
If the power cable is damaged it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its authorised technical service, or a
qualified technician to avoid danger.
8.
Do not use the appliance if it does not appear to be working correctly. If this is the case, switch the appliance
off without handling it. Any repairs must be made by the manufacturer or authorised technical service, using
original parts only. Failure to comply with these instructions could compromise the safety of your barbeque.
9.
The appliance must only be used for its intended purpose: as an electrical barbeque/grill. Any other use should
be considered inappropriate and, therefore, dangerous. The manufacturer will not be held responsible for any
damage caused by inadequate, incorrect or irrational use.
10. Never submerge the electrical parts in water or any other liquids for any reason. If the appliance falls into
water, unplug it before removing it from the water. Do not try to switch the appliance on; take it to an authorised
technical service centre and explain what has happened. This recommendation also applies if the power cable
or the appliance show signs of damage or if the appliance has fallen.
11. Never use the appliance in the presence of explosives, highly inflammable substances, gases or direct fire.
12. This product should not be used by children or other people without supervision if their physical, sensory or
mental state prevents them from using it safely. Children must be supervised to make sure they do not play with
this product.
13. Never touch the appliance with wet hands or feet when it is switched on.
14. Never use accessories that are not recommended by the manufacturer, since they could pose a serious
danger.
15. Never use the appliance in the bathroom or close to a bath, shower, sink or any other place where water could
represent potential danger.
16. Do not expose the appliance to rain, snow, wind, hail, etc.
17. Never unplug the appliance by pulling on the power cable or the appliance itself.
18. When the drip tray contains hot water or fat from the grill, take special care when removing the grating and the
element.
19. Make sure the surface on which the appliance stands is heat resistance. Do not stand the appliance on
cardboard, sheets of plastic, glass surfaces, etc. when switched on.
20. Unplug the appliance when not in use or when you wish to clean it or add water to the drip tray. Wait for the
element to cool down and do not touch hot surfaces whilst the appliance is still on.
21. Before plugging the appliance into the mains power supply, check that the element is correctly positioned.
22. Do not let the power cable rest on the appliance until the surface has cooled down completely.
23. Never place aluminium sheets or other materials that might obstruct the normal flow of air on the appliance
whilst it is switched on.
24. If you are no longer going to use an appliance of this kind, disable it by cutting the power cable, when it is not
plugged into the mains power supply! It is also advisable to completely disable any parts that might represent
potential danger, especially for children who use the old appliance as a toy.
25. Never store the appliance before it has cooled down completely.
26. Keep these instructions.

WARNING
Keep all packaging (plastic bags, polystyrene, plywood, etc.), out of the reach of children, who might be suffocated
or hurt if they play with them.
SETTING UP
1.
Unpack the barbeque.
2.
Place the drip tray at the base of the barbeque.
3.
Before you start using it, place the plastic accessory (6) in the drip tray slot (2) (Fig. 1).
WARNING: do not plug into the mains power until indicated in the following instructions:
1.
Before fitting and turning the element on, place the barbeque on a heat resistant surface, which must be
absolutely flat and horizontal. Make sure that within a radius of at least 30 cm around the appliance there are
no inflammable or heat-sensitive panels or objects. Make sure that at least one and a half metres above the
appliance there is no covering that might obstruct the normal flow of air.
2.
Pour water into the drip tray. The water must not come up higher than the half way mark on the side of the drip
tray. There must always be water in the tray when the barbeque is on. This avoids smoke and smells, and also
limits the transmission of heat to the bottom of the tray.
WARNING: the drip tray must only be filled with water when the element has been removed. This can only be done
when the element is cool and has been unplugged from the mains power supply.
3.
Place the element in the correct position and hold it with the plastic accessory (6) pressing the grating down.
4.
Place the grating on the base of the barbeque, making sure it is correctly positioned over the holes of the drip
tray (Fig. 2) and does not move. Make sure the grating is higher than the water (it must not come into contact
with the water in the drip tray).
5.
Make sure the power cable is not stretched over the top of the barbeque, close to the element or inside or
beneath the drip tray.
6.
Place the food directly on the grating, plug into the mains power supply and the pilot light on the element handle
will light up.
7.
Turn the switch on the element handle on and the barbeque will start to heat up. When you have finished
cooking, turn the switch off and unplug the appliance.
8.
When using the barbeque for the first time, leave it on without cooking any food on it. It might give off an
unpleasant smell, so the area should be well ventilated until any possible traces of smoke and odours caused
y the presence of grease are dispelled. You will only need to do this the first time the grill is switched on.
9.
Make sure there is always water in the drip tray. If necessary, fill the tray as follows:
a.
Switch off the appliance.
b.
Unplug it from the mains power supply.
c.
Wait until the barbeque is cooled down.
d.
Remove the element from the base of the barbeque.
e.
Refill the drip tray with water.
Warning: This barbeque is fitted with an automatic switch-off safety system. When the grill is lifted up together with
the element, the appliance automatically switches off.
This barbeque is particularly suited to cooking chicken, meat, fish, hamburgers, sausages, vegetables and many
other foods, without altering their natural aroma.

CARE AND CLEANING

Having turned off the switch, unplug the barbeque, leave it to cool down and remove the element.
The element must not be washed with water or any other liquid, and it is not dishwasher safe, but it can be cleaned
with a damp cloth. Then leave to dry.
The grating and the drip tray can be washed with detergent. A damp cloth can be used to clean the base of the
barbeque.
