Synchronous Motor Driven Timers
Temporizadores síncronos de motor
Temporizzatori sincroni a motore
General
Synchronous motor driven timers in a 48 DIN housing, suitable for front
panel or 11-pin base mounting. The timers offer a choice of six
presettable time ranges:
6 seconds, 60 seconds, 6 minutes, 60 minutes, 6 hours and 60 hours.
Two scale setting keys are provided. These may be removed, after
setting, to leave a flush front and also prevent unauthorised time
adjustment.
Time/Range Setting
It is recommended to practice setting the unit prior to installation.
Setting of the timer is as follows:-
One of the orange keys provided should be inserted into the socket at
the top right hand corner of the timer face (see Figure 2). Just above
this socket is an indicator window which shows the selected time range;
the ranges are listed above.
To adjust the range setting, the orange key may be turned either
clockwise or anticlockwise. Clockwise increases the timer range,
anticlockwise decreases it. However, if the key is rotated sufficiently the
selected range can be reached using either direction.
To set the unit to a desired time range, such as 60 seconds if the setting
is lower, e.g. 6 seconds, turn it clockwise; if it is higher, turn it
anticlockwise. The unit will be heard to 'click' once as the old time range
disengages.
The key should then be rotated and intermediate time settings will
appear in the window but will not have been selected, i.e
6
s
These intermediate displays (*) must be ignored otherwise incorrect
operation will result.
The unit will select the next time range in sequence. This is detected by
resistance to rotation and a second 'click', indicating the time range
engaged. Rotation between settings is approximately five sixths of a
turn of the key.
To move from one time range to another may require several turns of
the key, engaging and disengaging up or down the ranges, until the
desired range is engaged.
Note:
It is very important to inform the end user that the
timerange setting has to 'click' into place before it
isproperly selected. If the timer setting has not 'clicked' it
is NOT SET.
To set the delay time within the selected range, place one of the orange
keys in the bottom right hand socket on the timer face. A clockwise
turn will move the white pointer to a lower number, an anticlockwise
turn to a higher number.
The dial is graded 0-6 with ten divisions between units. The scale will
then represent seconds, minutes or hours according to the range
selected. When setting, the pointer MUST NOT be rotated through
zero, i.e. beyond the end points at 0 and 6.
