Do
• If an accident occurs, rinse the burn immediately with cold water and call a doctor if necessary.
• Cooking fumes may be dangerous for animals which have a particularly sensitive respiratory system, such
as birds. We advise bird owners to keep them away from the cooking area.
• Read the instructions carefully, common to different versions depending on the accessories supplied with
your appliance, and keep them within reach.
• Position the power cord carefully, whether an extension is used or not, so that guests can move freely
around the table without tripping over it.
• Only use the pan supplied with the appliance or purchased from an approved service centre.
• Only cook according to the instructions in the recipe or to the desired cooking level.
• To preserve the non-stick coating of the fondue pot, use a plastic or wooden spatula when preparing the
recipe.
• Place your appliance horizontally on a flat,stable heat resistant surface.
• Before first use, wash the fondue pot (follow paragraph after use), pour a little cooking oil onto the inside
face and wipe with a soft cloth or paper kitchen towel.
• If the appliance is used in the centre of the table, keep it out of the reach of children.
• To avoid damaging the fondue-pot: only use it on the support for which it was designed (e.g.: do not use
it in an oven, on a gas or electric hob, etc.).
Do not
• Do not lay the cooking utensil on the appliance's cooking surfaces.
• Do not use a metallic sponge or scouring powder as these could damage the cooking surface (e.g. non
stick coating, etc.)
• Never leave the appliance unattended when plugged in or in use.
• Never place the appliance directly on a fragile surface (glass table, tablecloth, varnished furniture, etc.) or
on a soft surface such as a tea-towel.
• To prevent the appliance from overheating, do not place it in a corner or below a wall cupboard.
• Never run the appliance empty.
• Do not touch the metal parts of the appliance when it is heating or operating, as they are very hot.
• Do not place the fondue pot under water or on a fragile surface.
• Do not handle the appliance before it has cooled down completely.
• The heating coil is not to be cleaned. If it is really dirty, wait until it has cooled down and wipe with a dry
cloth.
• Only the appropriate connector must be used.
• Do not touch the coating with the metal tip of the fork.
• Never cut food directly on the fondue pot.
Advice / information
• For your safety, this appliance conforms to all applicable standards and regulations (Low Voltage Directive,
Electromagnetic Compatibility, Food Compliant Materials, Environment, ...).
• On first use, there may be a slight odour and a little smoke during the first few minutes.
• After a cheese fondue, we recommend you to leave the fondue pot to soak overnight before cleaning it.
• Keep the appliance out of the reach of children.
