STANDARD REVERSE OPERATION
The spindle rotation is controlled by the slide on the top, rear of the tool. Move the slide to the right for right hand rotation and to the left for left hand
rotation. To ensure maximum performance, make sure the slide is in the full left or right position.
RAPID REVERSE OPERATION
The spindle rotation is controlled by the button on the top, rear of the tool. Press, and hold, the button to operate the tool in reverse spindle rotation
(counter clockwise). Release the button to operate the tool in forward rotation (clockwise). To ensure maximum performance, make sure the button is
fully pressed, or fully released.
TORQUE CONTROL OPERATION
Torque control tools are started by holding the trigger and applying force through the body of the tool, through the bit and into the fastener. Once the
set torque is reached the tool shuts off. After the tool shuts off, the trigger and force from the operator can be released. The tool can be restarted
by depressing the trigger and applying force again. The torque setting can be adjusted externally with the use of Sioux No. 2366 clutch adjustment
wrench or a #1 (3/16", 4.8mm dia shank) Phillips screwdriver. Torque adjustment is accomplished by rotating the clutch cover until the slot in the
case appears. Turn the output spindle of the tool with a ¼" (6.4mm) hex key wrench until the groove in the adjusting washer is aligned with the
slot in the clutch case. Insert the clutch adjustment wrench into the groove and push to fully engage the teeth. Turn the clutch adjustment wrench
counterclockwise to increase the torque.
AIR SUPPLY
The efficiency and life of this tool depend on the proper supply of clean, dry air at a maximum of 90 PSI. The use of an air line filter, pressure regulator,
and lubricator is recommended. Before connecting to tools, blow out the air line to remove water and dirt that may have accumulated.
HOSE AND HOSE CONNECTIONS
The air supply hose recommended is 3/8" (10mm) I.D. If an extension hose is necessary, use 1/2" (13mm) ID hose with couplings not less than 3/8" (10mm) I.D.
LUBRICATION
For maximum performance and tool life, an air line lubricator, set to deliver 2 drops per minute, is recommended. SIOUX No. 288 Air Motor Oil is
recommended. If an airline lubrication is not used, it is recommended that the tool be oiled daily before use to improve performance. Add 2-4 drops of
air motor oil and run the tool for 10-20 seconds to distribute oil through the tool. Lubricate the gears through the grease fitting with Sioux 1232A grease
after 100 hours of operation.
MAINTENANCE
Water, dust and other airline contaminants can cause rust and vane sticking. For long periods between tool use, flush the tool with a few drops of oil
and run for 10 seconds. This will help remove contaminants and reduce the formation of rust.
