ELECTRICAL SYSTEM MAINTENANCE

REMOVING THE BATTERY

Install the new pads.
Reinstall the retaining pins
Check the brake fluid level and fill if necessary
( p.130 and p.131).
CAUTION
Do not use the bike until the brake lever and the pedal are
operational. «Pump» the brake lever / brake pedal up and down
until the brake pads are in contact with the discs.
Turn off all electric devices and stop the engine.
CAUTION
WAIT AT LEAST 30 SECONDES BIKE TURNED OFF AND STOPPED
SO THAT THE KEYLESS SYSTEM TURNS OFF.
IF THIS IS NOT DONE THERE IS A SIGNIFICANT RISK OF DAMAGE
TO THE COMPUTER (ECU)
- Remove the seat ( p.116).
- Remove the air filter ( p.116).
The battery is located at the bottom of the filter housing.
- Remove the two screws
retaining bracket.
- Disconnect the negative cable from the battery
- Disconnect the battery positive cable
- Remove the battery from the top.
