Quick Start Guide
To avoid causing permanent damage to the probe, oscilloscope and other connected equipment, do
not exceed the voltage rating of any cable, connector or accessory.
The A3000 Series active probes are for use with PicoScope oscilloscopes with Intelligent Probe
Interface only. To prevent damage to the probe, do not attempt to connect it to other equipment.
To prevent a safety hazard or equipment damage, do not probe circuitry, interconnect or systems
where an interruption of function, temporary or permanent, could lead to hazard or harm. When
probing data lines, consider in particular the possible impact of temporary or prolonged data
corruption. Probe only under offline conditions.
It is good practice to connect the probe to the measurement instrument and the ground lead to earth
ground before connecting the probe to the circuit under test. Disconnect the probe input and the
probe ground lead from the circuit under test before disconnecting the probe from the measurement
instrument.
To avoid accidental electrostatic discharge causing damage to your probe or device under test, follow
good static control practices when using your probe.
Grounding
The probe's ground connection through the oscilloscope is for measurement purposes only. The
probe does not have a protective safety ground.
Never connect the ground input to, or allow it to touch, any electrical power source. To prevent
personal injury or death, or permanent damage to the probe, the attached oscilloscope, and other
equipment, use a voltmeter to check that there is no significant AC or DC voltage between the probe
ground and the point to which you intend to connect it.
Environment
This product is suitable for indoor or outdoor use, in dry locations only.
The probe becomes warm in operation. This is normal and not a sign of malfunction.
To prevent injury or death, do not use in wet or damp conditions, or near explosive gas or vapor.
To prevent damage, always use and store your probe in appropriate environments.

Pollution
The probe is a sensitive RF measuring instrument and the presence of external electromagnetic
fields may cause interference to measurements. To minimize this, follow good measurement
practices as described in the "Typical connections" section, and avoid using near sources of
interference such as mobile phones, transmitters or antenna masts.
