INSTALLATION
REMOVE EXISTING BRAKE
1. Disconnect power to operator.
2. Loosen the motor and remove the belt.
3. Remove the brake pressure plate, brake release lever and
pulley assembly.
4. Remove the solenoid cover.
5. Unplug wires from solenoid.
6. Remove conduit from hole in brake mounting plate.
7. Remove brake mounting plate.
INSTALL NEW BRAKE
1. Remove the solenoid cover, pressure plate, lever and pulley
from the brake in the new kit.
2. Attach brake mounting plate to motor with the four #10-32
nuts.
3. Feed wires through the hole in the brake mounting plate.
Reattach the conduit and connect wires to brake solenoid.
4. Set the height of the disk/pulley. The optimal distance from
brake mounting plate to disk is 0.2" for brake performance.
Setting this gap will also align the pulley.
5. Assemble the pressure plate and lever arm.
6. Ensure the brake releases by depressing the solenoid by
hand. Also, check that brake pads are in contact with disk in
free state.
7. If adjustments are required, return to step 4 and move the
disk as needed.
8. Re-attach the belt.
9. Tension the belt by repositioning the motor, then tighten the
motor mounting bolts.
10. Reconnect power to operator.
