WHAT'S IN THE BOX?
The brush cutter requires some assembly before
use These items ship with the brush cutter:
• Brush cutter attachment
• Guard with two (2) attachment screws
• Attachment tab
• Brush cutter handle
• Original Instruction Manual
• Torx wrench
• Flat box wrench
• Blocking pin
After removing the brush cutter from the box,
inspect it carefully to ensure no damage has
occurred during shipping and that no parts are
missing If any parts are damaged or missing,
do not use the brush cutter Contact Oregon®

WARNING: A battery operated tool
with the battery pack inserted can start
accidentally. Remove the battery pack before
assembling or performing maintenance.
ATTACHING THE GUARD (FIG. A)
WARNING: The blade on the grass
deflector is sharp. Avoid contact with the
blade. Failure to avoid contact can result in
serious personal injury.
• Remove the battery pack
• Remove the screws (1) from the guard (2)
• Insert the attachment tab (3) on the mounting
bracket in the slot on the guard
• Tighten the screws securely
INSTALLING THE BRUSH CUTTER
BARRIER BAR (FIG. B)
The brush cutter barrier bar must be used at all
times with the brush cutter attachment The
barrier bar is designed to provide improved control
and maximize safety Do not use the brush cutter
attachment without the barrier bar
On the powerhead, remove the red knob from the
front handle Keep the bolt held in place in the
front handle Place the red knob in a safe location
where you can easily find it again
Slide the front handle toward the powerhead as
far as it will go, maintaining a position with the
handle on top of the shaft
Position the barrier bar on the left side of the front
handle, aligning the bolt in the front handle to the
threaded hole in the barrier bar Rotate the barrier
bar clockwise on the threaded bolt until the barrier
bar is secure and tight against the handle If the
handle can rotate or slide, the barrier bar needs
additional tightening Check the barrier bar and
handle periodically during use to ensure tightness
and position
