Press the BASS or TREBLE button.
To adjust the level of low frequency
information, press the BASS button.
To adjust the level of high frequency
information, press the TREBLE button.

Within 5 seconds, turn the VOLUME
knob to change the setting.
The level can be adjusted from –4 to +4.

Headphones
Insert the headphones plug into the
phones jack ( ), and adjust the volume.
When a stereo FM broadcast is received,
you can listen to stereo sound by
connecting your stereo headphones to the
phones jack.
Also you can listen to stereo sound from
an external source that is connected to the
AUX IN jack.
CAUTION
Always lower the volume level prior to
plugging in your headphones. TO AVOID
DAMAGING YOUR HEARING - Do not
place your headphones on your head until
after you have plugged them in.
Dimmer
When the R-2 is used on battery power,
the display is dimmed automatically. If
you press a button or turn a knob, the
display lights up for 20 seconds.
< When you set the sleep timer, the display
is dimmed automatically.
Brightness of the display:
Maximum
• AC adaptor is connected and the unit is
On.
• Used on battery power, and the unit is
On.
z
Medium
• AC adaptor is connected and the unit is
Standby.
• Used on battery power, and the unit is On
(but idle for more than 20 seconds).
• Sleep timer is on.
z
The back light is off.
• Used on battery power, and the unit is in
Standby.
Sleep Timer
The power can be switched off after a
specified amount of time.
Press the SLEEP button repeatedly until
desired time appears on the display.
SLEEP 90, 60 or 30:
The power will be switched off 90, 60 or
30 minutes later.
Normal display:
The sleep timer is off.
< When you set the sleep timer, the display
is automatically dimmed after 20 seconds.
< The SLEEP indicator slowly blinks, and the
remaining time is momentarily displayed
once per minute.
If you want to check the remaining time,
press the SLEEP button once. The
remaining time will be displayed for 5
seconds, and then return to the normal
display.
