User's Manual
Introduction
The 3DS™ Parental Controller is an accessory for the
Nintendo 3DS™. It alerts the user with warning lights
and beeps when the time is up or when the user is too
close to the screen. If the user does not comply with the
warnings, it will force the user to turn off the 3DS™.
There is a per-play timer and a daily timer. An electronic
key is used by parents to change the settings. A locking
mechanism and a tamper-alarm are included to pre-
vent the user from removing the Controller.

Per-play Timer
The per-play timer starts automatically when the 3DS™ is switched on. The time limit can be set to 20,
30, 45, 60 minutes.
The Time Indicator advances from left to right (No. 1 - 4) according to the elapsed time. Each LED
stands for ¼ of the preset time.
When it is approaching the limit, the Controller gives warning beeps and fl ashes. When the time limit
reached, loud beeps will sound to remind the user to take a rest of at least 10 minutes.

Rest
The user is recommended to turn off the 3DS™ himself and wait for 10 minutes before playing again.
At the end of the 10-minute rest, the Controller will beep 3 times to notify the user. During the rest time
if the user turns on the 3DS™, the current elapsed time will remain, and the user will have little time le
to play.
Forcing the User to Turn off the 3DS™
If the user still does not turn off the 3DS™, the Controller will bring the 3DS™ to its Home Menu. The use
is supposed to turn off the 3DS™. If not, the Controller will keep on beeping and bring the 3DS™ to the
Home Menu again after one minute. This process will continue until the user turns off the 3DS™.
Note: Sometimes the 3DS™ will be turned off instead of brought back to Home Menu. This will happen
if the battery life is low.
Daily Limit
Daily Limit can be preset at 1, 2, 3, or 4 hours. When the daily limit is reached, warning beeps and long
lasting beeps will be given. The user is supposed to turn off the 3DS™ and wait until the next day to
play again. If not, the Controller will bring the 3DS™ to Home Menu.
The daily elapsed time is recorded. In the fi rst 7 seconds when the 3DS™ is turned on, the time indica
tor will show the daily elapsed time. Each LED indicates ¼ of the total time allowed per day. The record
will be cleared after about 8 hours of rest – e.g. overnight.
DEFAULT: 2 Hours
Distance
When a user's face is closer than the preset distance, the warning light will fi rst fl ash slowly, then faster
after 7 seconds. The Controller also beeps slowly, then faster. If the user is still too close after about 28
seconds, the Controller will bring the 3DS™ to Home Menu. The warning distance is adjustable.
