Congratulations! You are now the proud
owner of an electric NISSEN salt and pepper
grinder from BODUM
enjoy using this BODUM
We want this grinder to give you satisfaction
for many years to come. Please, therefore, read
the following instructions and keep them in a
safe place.
Before using for the first time
1. Turn the top part of the housing ( ) anti-
clockwise and remove the battery
compartment ( ) from the lower part of the
housing ( ).
2. Insert six AAA alkaline batteries in the
battery compartment ( ) according to the
markings.
3. Fill pepper (grinders with black adjustment
screw ( )) or salt (grinders with white
adjustment screw only) into the opening ( )
of the lower part of the grinder.
4. Reposition the battery compartment ( ) on
the lower part of the housing ( ) and screw
the upper and lower parts of the housing
together, turning clockwise until the grinder is
firmly closed and ready for use.
5. Press the start button ( ) to begin grinding.
Adjusting the grind setting
1. For coarser grinding, loosen the adjustment
screw ( ) at the base of the grinder by turning
it towards the left.
2. For finer grinding, turn the adjustment
screw ( ) at the base of the grinder towards
the right.
Cleaning and care
1. To avoid corrosion, always wipe the opening
of the lower part after filling to ensure that
the two copper contacts remain free of salt
(this only applies to salt grinders).
2. Do not leave any used batteries inside the
grinder.
3. Always replace all 6 batteries at the same
time. Do not use old and new batteries
together.
4. To clean, wipe the grinder with a dry cloth.
Never place the grinder in the dishwasher or
immerse it in water. Ensure that the battery
contacts do not become wet.

Useful hints
1. If the grinder fails to function:
- check whether the batteries have been
inserted correctly, or
- whether there is enough pepper or salt in the
lower part of the grinder. If the grinder is full,
tap it lightly to release a possible blockage in
the lower part.
2. If grinding slows down you should replace
the batteries.
