Cleaning:
Clean the machine regularly.
Some chemicals can damage the product. Do not use harsh chemicals like gasoline, carbon tetrachloride,
paint thinner etc.
Use only mild soap and a slightly damp to clean the tool. Never let water or oil into the inside of motor.
Make sure the motor fan and fan cover are also kept clear of dust.
Keep construction debris out of vents and triggers by blowing with compressed air. If compressed air is
unavailable, please use a soft bristle or brush.
All protective and safety devices must be re- attached immediately after completed cleaning, repair and
maintenance work.
Defective safety devices must be replaced immediately.
Motor carbon brushes:
The motor uses carbon brushes, which may require replacing. Carbon brushes wear out over time and
could create motor trouble. Regularly inspect brushes after 100 hours of use. Keep carbon brushes free and
clear of debris, and replace worn parts when necessary. Brushes are located on either side of cut off saw
motor.
- Unscrew the black plastic cap at the side of the motor and then remove the cap cautiously, because the
carbon brushes are spring loaded.
- Press the spring to release the carbon brushes.
- Take off each carbon brush check it and replace it if necessary. Replace both carbon brushes also if only
one is worn out.
- Position the carbon brushes in the motor.
- Screw the plastic cap back at the side the motor.
Run the machine for about 5 - 10 minutes to allow the carbon brushes to adapt to their position. If these
are not correctly assembled, the motor can be seriously damaged. While the carbon brushes adapt to their
position you can notice sparks coming out of the motor: this is normal for new carbon brushes.
