Temperature transmitter
Thank you for choosing this instrument from TFA.
1. Before you use this product
• Please make sure you read the instruction manual carefully.
• Following and respecting the instructions in your manual will prevent
damage to your instrument and loss of your statutory rights arising from
defects due to incorrect use.
• We shall not be liable for any damage occurring as a result of non-
following of these instructions. Likewise, we take no responsibility for
any incorrect readings or for any consequences resulting from them.
• Please pay particular attention to the safety notices!
• Please keep this instruction manual safe for future reference.
2. Features of the temperature transmitter
• Additional temperature transmitter for wireless weather stations (e.g.
35.1093)
• For the wireless transmission of outdoor temperature and DCF time (433
MHz), transmission range up to 30 m (free field)
• Also for temperature control of remote rooms, f. e. children's room, wine-
cellar

• This product should only be used as described within these instructions.
• Unauthorized repairs, modifications or changes to the product are prohi-
bited.
Caution!
Risk of injury:
• Keep this device and the batteries out of reach of children.
• Small parts can be swallowed by children (under three years old).
• Batteries contain harmful acids and may be hazardous if swallowed. If a
battery is swallowed, this can lead to serious internal burns and death with-
in two hours. If you suspect a battery could have been swallowed or other-
wise caught in the body, seek medical help immediately.
• Batteries must not be thrown into a fire, short-circuited, taken apart or
recharged. Risk of explosion!
• Low batteries should be changed as soon as possible to prevent damage
caused by leaking.
• Never use a combination of old and new batteries together, nor batteries of
different types.
• Make sure the polarities are correct.
• Avoid contact with skin, eyes and mucosa when handling leaking batteries.
In case of contact, immediately rinse the affected areas with water and con-
sult a doctor.

Important information on product safety!
• Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures, vibrations or shocks.
• Protect it from moisture.
• The outdoor transmitter is protected against splash water, but is not water-
tight. Choose a shady and dry position for the transmitter.

5. Setting up
5.1 Getting started
• Place the base station and the transmitter on a desk with a distance of
approximately 1.5 meter. Check that no other electronic devices are close.
• Take the base station into operation according to the manual of the display
unit.
• Open the battery compartment of the transmitter by pushing inwards the two
latches at the bottom and insert 2 x AA 1,5 V batteries, observing the correct
polarity.
• The LED indicator of the transmitter is blinking and the transmitter is set to
channel 1 by default.
Temperature transmitter
• After the sensor is powered up, it will first transmit the temperature and then
the sensor will start radio controlled time reception. During the DCF time
reception period (maximum 10 minutes), no weather data will be transmitted.
• After the reception of the radio controlled time the DCF signal appears perma-
nently on the display of the weather station.
• Note: DO NOT PRESS ANY KEY during the first 10 minutes learning period or
before radio controlled time is displayed on the receiver. After both outdoor
values and radio controlled time are displayed you can place your remote
sensor outdoors at the final destination. In case the clock cannot detect the
DCF-signal (for example due to disturbances, transmitting distance, etc.), the
time can be set manually. If the outdoor weather data is not displayed or if
any key is pressed before the weather station receives the signal, or when
changing transmitter batteries you will need to follow the battery installation
procedure again. Please wait minimum 10 seconds before reinserting the
batteries!
Note for Radio Controlled Time DCF
The time base for the radio controlled time is a Caesium Atomic Clock operat-
ed by the Physikalisch Technische Bundesanstalt Braunschweig which has a
time deviation of less than one second in one million years. The time is coded
and transmitted from Mainflingen near Frankfurt via frequency signal DCF-77
(77.5 kHz) and has a transmitting range of approximately 1,500 km. Your
radio-controlled clock receives this signal and converts it to show the precise
time in summer or wintertime. The quality of the reception depends greatly on
the geographic location. In normal cases, there should be no reception prob-
lems within a 1,500 km radius around Frankfurt.
Please take note of the following:
• The radio controlled time receiver is built inside the thermo-sensor. It is
recommended to keep distance to any interfering sources and ferro-con-
crete buildings.
• During night-time, the atmospheric disturbances are usually less severe
and reception is possible in most cases. A single daily reception is adequate
to keep the accuracy deviation below 1 second.
6. Positioning of the transmitter
• Choose a shady and dry position for the transmitter. (Direct sunshine falsi-
fies the measurement and continuous humidity strains the electronic com-
ponents needlessly)
• Check the transmission of 433 MHz signal from the transmitter to the base
station (transmission range 30 m free field). Within ferro-concrete rooms
(basements, superstructures), the received signal is naturally weakened.
• If necessary choose another position for transmitter and/or display unit.
7. Additional transmitters
• The sensor will automatically transmit temperature to the base station on
channel 1 after batteries are inserted.
• For having more than one external transmitter, select a different channel (1
to 3) for every transmitter by pressing the "CH" button on the transmitter
while the transmission indication LED is flashing. Press twice for channel 2
and three times for channel 3 right after the starting up of the transmitter.
The LED is flashing once for channel 1, twice for channel 2 and three times
for channel 3 (channel 4 and 5 are not usable for model 35.1093).
• Press and hold the "CH" button on the base station for 2 sec. to start initial-
ization manually. The channel number on the LCD of the base station flash-
es and the new transmitter will be received automatically (model 35.1093).
8. Resetting
• There are chances that the receiver unit and the transmitter may need to be
reset, e.g., changing of batteries. User is suggested to:
1. Remove the batteries from each unit and wait at least 30 seconds.
2. Proceed from step 1 in "Setting up"
9. Care and maintenance
• Clean the instrument with a soft damp cloth. Do not use solvents or scour-
ing agents.
• Remove the batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period
of time.
• Keep the instrument in a dry place.

10. Waste disposal
This product and its packaging have been manufactured using high-grade
materials and components which can be recycled and reused. This reduces
waste and protects the environment.
Dispose of the packaging in an environmentally friendly manner using the
collection systems that have been set up.
Disposal of the electrical device
Remove non-permanently installed batteries and rechargeable bat-
teries from the device and dispose of them separately.
This product is labelled in accordance with the EU Waste Electrical
and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE).
Please do not dispose of this product in ordinary household
waste. As a consumer, you are required to take end-of-life devices
to a designated collection point for the disposal of electrical and
electronic equipment, in order to ensure environmentally-compa-
tible disposal. Observe the current regulations in place!
Disposal of the batteries
Never dispose of empty batteries and rechargeable batteries with
ordinary household waste. They contain pollutants which, if
improperly disposed of, can harm the environment and human
health. As a consumer, you are required by law to take them to
your retail store or to an appropriate collection site depending on
national or local regulations in order to protect the environment.
The symbols for the contained heavy metals are:
Cd=cadmium, Hg=mercury, Pb=lead.
